Today the Chairman and entire executive members of ACTORS GUILD OF NIGERIA ENUGU STATE CHAPTER celebrates 100 days in office. We first of all wish to thank the Almighty God for His grace upon us and the entire members of the Enugu chapter.
In this first 100 days in office, we have recorded huge paradigm shift from moribund chapter to viable one.
1. In the first 1 month of our inception, we changed the overall outlook of the office both interior and exterior, engaged an office secretary who resumes office from 9am to 4pm on Monday through Friday. In the office, hung on the wall are image portraits of the 5 past chairmen of the State chapter.
2. The Executive members, led by the Chairman Comrade Brown N. Ene have engaged in building and fraternizing with other sister Guilds and associations such as DGN, CDGN, AMP, etc. This all important synergy made it possible for AGN and these other sister bodies to speak in one voice when it comes to welfare of its members.
3. We have gone for courtesy visits to the guild's veterans on formal introductions with openness to advise and ideas that will move the guild forward. Some of the ace actors visited so far include Chief Pete Edochie who gladly welcomed us with warm dozes of fatherly advice to help further shape the Guild; and also chief Zebrudaya who is a great encourager and adviser.
4. By the 3rd month, we introduced the GburusCare Initiative to the guild and have their team identify and support the aged in the guild while subjecting them to an overall medical check up and those with underlining health challenges are directed to their nearest government clinic and they promised to move to the young people as time goes by, all free of charge.
5. We were introduced to Enugu State Government through the SA on Entertainment, Hon. Ndidi Obi where we were received by His Excellency lead by Emeka Rollas, the President of Actors Guild of Nigeria, and by the grace of God we now have a strong foot hold and a cordial relationship with the entertainment arm of the Government through the singular move.
6. We have attracted the State Government whom is interested in projects and productions that will particularly affect positively the rural areas of the state, courtesy of the Governor.
7. We have started re-inviting all and sundry to start attending meetings and on stipulated time (10am to 12noon) and accountability shown in clear terms.
8. Monthly birthdays are introduced as celebrants share cakes, food and quality refreshments at every monthly general meeting.
9. We have shown our solidarity with Enugu State on-air personalities exhibited recently during their award night.
10. We are currently on a media familiarization tour for the next 2 weeks with our friends and counterparts in both print, radio, tv and social media.
11. We recently handled a documentary for Enugu Unity Park. This was done to showcase one of the achievements of the sitting governor, his Excellency Rtn. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, letting the world know that Enugu State is a place to visit, as the eastern State that enjoys maximum peace and security. As the saying goes, "all work and no play makes jack a dull boy".
12. We are hoping to partner with Enugu SME agency in training our members to be more engaged and productive asides Filmmaking encouraging multiple streams of income, not just relying on making movies.
13. We have equally invited SSA to Governor Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Youth and Empowerment, who taught and educated members on Cripto currency and the immense opportunities accruing to it's investors. He emphasized Zuga coin and also gifted the Guild a 100 million Zuga coin by way of empowerment.
14. We have also concluded move to have collaboration on programs with RATAWU. This necessitated the visit to the former national vice president of RATAWU Chief Ndudi Chude who assured us of maximum cooperation as the Chairman of RATAWU Enugu State.
15. We also in seeking for ways forward, had a meeting with the commissioner for culture and tourism. Hon. Ugonna Ibe with assurances of his maximum cooperation and collaboration
These we have achieved and a lot more on the pipeline yet to be conquered.
God bless Nigeria.
God bless Enugu State.
God bless ACTORS GUILD OF NIGERIA.
God bless ACTORS GUILD OF NIGERIA ENUGU STATE CHAPTER.
