Organizers of the annual Coal City Film Festival have just announced that the 2023 edition of the festival will hold from the 23rd to the 25th of March.

With the theme ‘Film Meets Tech’, Founder and Executive Director, Uche Agbo, said the festival’s vision is to open the doors of South-East Nigeria to the rest of the world through film.

The film festival, he said, had its maiden edition in March 2021, and it has successfully hosted two editions.

Among the events slated for this year’s festival is Old Skool Fashion Night, South East Entertainment as well as a Media Night.

The festival will also celebrate and honour key industry stakeholders while learning how to improve their arts and business knowledge.

With a total of 46 official films selected for screening from a pool of films submitted to the festival under the categories: feature films, short films, documentaries and student/experimental films.

Film Meets Tech

Speaking further, Agbo explained the theme for this third festival edition, ‘Film Meets Tech’.

He said it would help industry experts to expand their horizons and include conversations around technology, food, fashion, finance, health and culture, and how film can be used to improve these sectors.

“Last edition was successful as we had over three thousand physical participants and over 4.5 million combined online views. In this third edition, we want to expand the visibility of the festival as well as increase the physical and online participation,” he said.

Agbo also said that, like the previous editions, this year’s should be having free film screenings, free master classes, panel discussions, palm wine and bush meat round table, a city tour award/gala night and a party.

Governors Who Have Dismissed Peter Obi’s Chances Of Winning The 2023 Presidential Election

It is not news that Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has gained momentum in the presidential race in recent months.

But despite his growing popularity among Nigerians, some governors in the ruling party and other parties has dismissed his chances of winning the election.

In light of this incident, we decided to publish this article to shed light on the governors who have disagreed with his chances of winning elections in recent months.

One. Nasir El-Rufai: It is no longer news that Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai has ruled out the possibility of Peter Obi winning the election. In a recent interview with TVC , Daily Trust reported that APC Governor, Rufai stated that Peter Obi cannot win the forthcoming presidential election.

In the interview, Nasir El-Rufai noted the only two parties in the primaries which are APC and PDP and that Peter Obi could not get 25% of the votes in more than 16 states.

2. Charles Soludo: Another governor who ruled out Peter Obi’s chances of winning the presidential election is Charles Soludo. In an article written in November, the Anambra Governor Soludo dismissed Obi's chances of winning the election.

The Anambra State Governor has said that he knows Obi cannot and will not win the election. He mentioned that only two parties are fighting to win the elections. He said Peter Obi has no chance of winning the election and if he is not careful, he might not finish third when the election is over.

Three. Ifeanyi Okowa: Delta Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has also ruled out the possibility of Peter Obi winning the election. According to Daily Post, during a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign in Ndokwa, East-West Delta municipality in December, the PDP vice presidential candidate stated that the Labour Party and its supporters will go nowhere. So Peter Obi’s supporters should not waste votes with him.

Meanwhile, several polls released in recent months have Peter Obi ahead of Atiku Abubakar and Bola Tinubu. So, whether the assessments of the aforementioned governors are right or wrong, it only remains for you to decide the outcome of the election when Nigerians vote.
