FULL NOMINATION LIST RELEASED AHEAD OF 2016 EDITION OF AFRICAN MOVIE ACADEMY AWARDS (AMAA) SET FOR PORT-HACOURT

As the date for Africa's most anticipated awards ceremony draws closer, African Film Academy, organizers of the longest running awards ceremony in West Africa - African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) - has just released nominations list ahead of its A-list event which will be coming up on Saturday, June 11, 2016 in the Garden City, Port-Harcourt to be held in conjunction with the state's Government.

TOPE TEDELA, KIKI OMEILI IN "THE HAPPYNESS LIMITED": AN IMOH UMOREN FILM

"Right from scripting to filming, 'The Happyness Limited' took 2 and a half years to make. The scripting process underwent series of consistent restructuring for close to 15 months and on the course of which the project was pushed further, bothering on issues of location et al, but was eventually finished in March 2016".
SYNOPSIS
The Happyness Limited is a film about a man Gregory Ojefua played by Tope Tedela who loses everything in a fire and is scarred. His badly burnt child needs a surgery and Gregory does all he can to raise money for her. He is seriously hampered as people will not hire him because he is deformed. He eventually finds work as a party mascot for children. Hoping this was a ray of sunlight but his life takes another turn when he falls in love with his prostitute neighbour Agnes (played by Kiki Omeili) and forms an unlikely bond with her daughter Mandu(Played by Miriam Kayode).

The Happyness Limited is a feature film by Imoh Umoren which follows the life of Gregory Ameh played by AMVCA winner Tope Tedela who loses everything in a fire and is trying reclaim his life. It was filmed on location in Lagos and Abeokuta and an intensive two-year planning period. The film also stars Kiki Omeili, Gregory Ojefua, Kingsley Nwachukwu, Duke Elvis, Harry Dorgu. It's Imoh Umoren's third feature after the critically-acclaimed Lemon Green (2009) and the TV movie Have A Nice Day (2013). 
The Happyness Limited is set to go on a festival run to 27 film festivals.

SEE WHY "SLEEP SEF NA WAHALA" - A ROYALHOUSE OF GOLD PRODUCTION AND AFRICAN RENAISSANCE THEATRE IN COLLABORATION WITH SILVERBIRD ENTERTAINMENT CENTER, ABUJA


                                                        
The stage is set, the lights are blazing and RoyalHouse of Gold Production (RHoGP) is back with another remarkable play for its 2016 theater season. RHoG has teamed up with African Renaissance Theatre (A.R.T.) to present the premier production of "Sleep Sef Na Wahala", a play written by Africa Ukoh and directed by Williams Obasi.

Venue: The Silverbird Galleria, Abuja.
Date: On 13th, 14th and 15th of May, 2016.
Time: 6:PM, daily.
Tickets: 2k (children), 3k (adult), 5k (couple)

ABOUT THE PLAY:
Sleep sef na wahala is a comedy about Amaechi, a half-employed-and-half-unemployed part time worker and full time slave. After a soul-crushing 72 hour work shift, all Amaechi wants is sleep. Unfortunately for Amaechi, his landlady wants him. His neighbour also wants him. The police want him. Even the friendly neighbourhood preacher wants him. Amaechi just wants sleep. But does sleep want Amaechi? Shortlisted for the 2009 Abuja Writers’ Forum competition, this hilarious piece of theatre promises big laughs and great entertainment after the week’s wahala.
